Walkthrough: Eregion

Quest: Journey to the Elf Outpost
Reward: 320 exp

As Berethor, you'll be confronted by two Ring Wraiths who will strike you down quickly. Follow the path, collecting the 3rd Age Gondorian Scouting Shield (be sure to equip it). When the path opens up, collect the 1st Age Galadhirim Spirit Warding Pendant and the Kingsfoil to the right. Continue following the path and collect the chest with the Lembas as well as the Longbottom Leaf. Eventually a brief cut scene will play and you will be attacked by three Orcs at the end of it. Defeat them and continue to the first save point. To the left of the Save Point is a chest with Slime of Orthanc in it. Next head in to the outpost to complete the first quest.

Quest: Collect Elf Artifacts
Enemies: Various

First collect the Gondorian Steel Citadel Guard Pauldrons, Lembas, Kingsfoil Leaves, Leaves of Lembas, and Leaf of Old Toby from the chests, then walk through the door to get an updated quest instruction. To the left of the door you came through is a Longbottom Leaf. Through the door next to this are chests with the 2nd Age Elven Silver Tiara of Eriador and Ent Draught Phial. Outside again and to the left is Kingsfoil Leaves. Follow the path to trigger the next quest event. The artifacts for this quest will be found during other quests in this chapter. They are located in the Elf Altars that you must find as well as at the same place you'll find the Elrond's Map.

Quest: Defend the Elf Caravan
Enemies: Orc Archer Rabble, Orc Sword Warrior, Orc Lesser Captain
Reward: 820 exp

After leaving the Elf Outpost, you will be confronted by three Orcs. Attack the Lesser Captain first using your Skills to get rid of the biggest threat early.

Quest: Hunt the Wild Men
Enemies: Wild Man Sword Rabble, Wild Man Sword Warrior
Reward: 2460 exp

After completing the Elf Caravan Quest, look for a clearing to the North for chests containing Ent Bark and Leaves of Lembas. Here you'll be confronted by the first of 3 Wild Man parties. Go back across the clearing and then to the left to find chests with Lembas and Elf Medicine. Here you will fight the second Wild Man war band. Turn around and head straight down the other path. This will bring you to a clearing with the final Wild Man battle. In this battle you will have to fight the Warrior, a slightly tougher version of the Wild Man you have been fighting. Attack him first before he can deal much damage to you. Defeat them and pick up the Slime of Orthanc, Ent Bark and Elf Medicine from the chests.

Quest: Rescue at Caradhras Pass
Enemies: Starving Lesser Warg

Once you go East through the Elf Caravan clearing, the first random battles will begin to occur. Orc Archer Rabble and Orc Sword Warriors will randomly attack you. Follow the path to a clearing with Lembas and Elf Medicine in chests and a Save Point. Continue down the path to find Elegost. He will join your party and together you'll have to fight the Warg. Make use of Elegost's Bow Craft Creature Bane in this battle.

Quest: Hunt all Warg Packs in the area
Enemies: Starving Lesser Warg
Reward: 1160 exp

With Elegost in your party, you must kill all of the Wargs in the region. First collect the Bag of Old Toby directly ahead of you. Head left and look for a clearing to find the first Warg. Go to the North from here and follow the path to find the second group (yes, group…this time you fight two Wargs). Go to the left on the path across the bridge to find the Bag of Old Toby. Inside the little cave is the last Warg Pack. Defeat them and pick up the Lembas in the cave. Through the cave is a chest with Gorogoroth Ash. Head back to where you fought the two Wargs and take the path you have not traveled on yet.

Quest: Follow Fellowship to Moria
Enemies: None
Reward: 170 exp

After defeating the Wargs and going to the next area, the first path to the right will find the campsite and trigger a movie event. There is a Save Point at the center of this clearing and if you follow the path up the hill, you will find the 3rd Age Lothlorien Ring of Spirit Warding and Troll Pit Mud.

Quest: Find an Elf Healing Altar
Enemies: Random battles with Orcs
Reward: 990 exp

Head down the hill from the Save Point and in to the next region. Pick up the Lembas from the chest as you first enter. Go up to the ruin where you'll find a Save Point and a chest with Slime of Orthanc. Go up the staircase on the right to find Elf Medicine. Head down the staircase to the left of the entrance and you'll find a chest with more Lembas. Walk through the center of the basement circle to find a staircase going back up. You'll find another chest with Lembas and Ent Bark here. Exit to the North after fighting several easy Orcs.

Quest: Defend Elf Healing Altars
Enemies: Orc Sword Warrior, Orc Sword Chieftan, Armored Orc Sword Veteran
Reward: 1160 exp

Straight ahead you will find the first Elf Artifact - The Cracked Elfstone of Action Enhancement. Follow the path down the hill until you stop for the night and watch a cut scene. Pick up the Bag of Old Toby in the chest and keep walking along the path. As you are walking, a path to the right will branch off with chests containing. Slime of Orthanc, Troll Pit Mud, and the Battered Helm. Just down the path from here is a circular side path with a staircase leading up to the first Altar you need to clear. There is also a chest with a Defy Shadow Phial. The second Elf Artifact is also located here - the Cracked Elfstone of Health Enhancement. Around the back of this Altar on the ground is another Defy Shadow Phial. Continue to a large hall with a Save Point. Here you'll find chests containing the 3rd Age Dunedain Brooch of Arnor, Elf Medicine, Leaf of Old Toby, and Lembas.

Through to the next room and you'll be confronted by more Orcs, this time in a party with a Chieftain and a Veteran. Defeat them and pick up the third Elf Artifact - the Cracked Elfstone of Water Protection. To the left of this is Kingsfoil in a chest.

Quest: Reclaim Elrond's Map
Enemies: Orc Sword Warrior, Orc Sword Chieftain, Orc Sword Veteran
Reward: 1320 exp

Follow the path into the dark woods. Along the right side you'll find a chest with Elf Medicine and Troll Pit Mud. Continue along battling through random fights with Orc Chieftains and Veterans. You'll come across a Save Point. Turning right here will bring you to a clearing with chests containing two Lembas, a Satchel of Lembas, 3rd Age Lothlorien Spirit Calling Pendant, and the Dunedain Wool Ranger Cloak. You must find the map before you can head to the East of this clearing. Continue past the Save Point into a cave where you'll find one more Orc battle. After the battle, collect the last Elf Artifact - the Cracked Elfstone of Armor Enhancement. Next to this is a chest with Huorn Pollen.

Quest: Find Hadhod the Dwarf
Enemies: Cave Troll Rabble
Reward: 3300 exp

From the cave with Elrond's Map, head back to the last Save Point. Turn here and head to the East. Down this path you'll find another Save Point. Turn left here to find Hadhod and battle a Cave Troll. The Cave Troll packs quite a swing. Make sure you heal with Idrial if one member begins to get even close to low on HP. Idrial's Weakening Slash also helps to keep the Troll from hurting you too much. After defeating the Troll, collect the chests with Elf Medicine, Ent Draught Flasks, Defy Water Phial, and Fresh Athelas.

Quest: Find Moria's West Gate
Enemies: None
Reward: 170 exp

Go back to the Save Point and continue down the road. You'll find a chest with Rusts of Moria a little before a Save Point that marks the end of the chapter. Walk just past it to complete the quest.

Boss Battle: The Watcher in the Water.
This enemy cannot be hit by melee attacks. This makes it a great place to try switching in and out characters from battle, now that you have four party members. Hit the Switch Character button at any time to swap out a fighter. Hadhod's Flaming Fury Spirit attack is good because the Watcher is Fragile to Fire attacks. Idrial is useful for healing, but don't use Loudwater Fury because the Watcher is resistant to water attacks. Elegost should be left in always because of his use of a ranged weapon - especially his Creature Bane skill. Berethor is useful in this battle through his Leadership skills - try boosting your party's attack to deal with the Watcher quickly. When you defeat him, you'll receive the Elfstone of Nimble Crafting and will continue to Western Moria.

You now may reenter Eregion at any time from a Save Point and may play the first Evil Mode level to unlock bonus items for your party.
