Announced in February 2000, The Dreamland Chronicles: Freedom Ridge was originally scheduled to be a futuristic turn-based strategy title inspired by the classic PC hit, X-COM: UFO Defense. Set several years after aliens have taken over a future earth, the game encourages players to use their small cadre of surviving humans to fight back and recapture the planet for mankind. Unfortunately for strategy fans, Freedom Ridge lost its funding just over a year into development and was later sold to developer Altar Interactive in mid-2001. Eventually the game was re-worked and re-packaged as UFO: Aftermath and saw its release for the PC in the autumn of 2003. Production on the PlayStation 2 version was never resumed.
