2002 has been a pretty good year for platformers, and Sony's led the way with winners like Sly Cooper and the Thievius Raccoonus and Ape Escape 2 (Japan-only, at the moment). Now it's looking to turn that quality pair into a trio with the release of Ratchet & Clank, a new 3D platformer developed by Insomniac Games.
