As anyone who's ever attended one will tell you, the parties at the Playboy Mansion are always star-studded events. So it's hardly surprising that the ones in the Playboy: The Mansion game would be as well. Which is almost as good as the real thing or so we were told when we talked to four of famous folks lucky enough to get invited to these virtual bashes: actress Melissa Joan Hart, singers Uncle Kracker and Andrew WK, and Sum 41 guitarist David Baksh.

GameSpy: How did you get involved in this game?
Uncle Kracker: Somebody asked me if I wanted to be in it, and I said yes because I'm a big Playboy fan. Though I like games, too.GameSpy: How much of the game did you get to see before you signed on?
Melissa Joan Hart: Yeah, they just asked me, too. I guess I've been to the mansion enough times that they felt I belonged in the game.
Andrew WK: I heard about it because the people behind the game sent out this thing to different people, saying that if anyone wanted to be in the game that they should get in touch. But I didn't think I was going to make it because apparently a lot of people said they wanted to be in the game. What's funny is that I found out that I was going to be in the game when I read about it in the newspaper.
David Baksh: We got involved because this guy who used to work with us at Aquarius Records asked Playboy if we could be in the game, and Playboy said yeah. And actually, all four of us in the band are in the game. For some reason the press release about the game said that I was the only one, but we're all in there.
Uncle Kracker: Nothing. When they asked if I wanted to be in a Playboy game, I just said, "I'm in." I didn't even know what I was going to do, I was just into it.
Melissa Joan Hart: I had my lawyer checked into it. Had to do the legal thing, just to make sure it didn't cause a scandal like when I did the magazines Maxim and Bikini.

Andrew WK
GameSpy: Did the fact that it's a Playboy game have any effect on your decision to get involved?
Andrew WK: Playboy has always been very supportive of me and my music, so I can't say enough good things about them. Though I don't even know if you could do a game like this and not have it be a Playboy game.
David Baksh: Yeah, the first thing that sparked our interest was Playboy. You say that word to anybody and their ears will perk up. Especially if they're male. But I'm also a big fan of The Sims, and so once I found out it was basically The Sims but with you as High Hefner, I was super excited. I was going to do it whether the other guys in my band were into it or not.
