Sony's famous platforming duo come to PSP, PS2 with new adventure.
Even if it's April Fools' Day, some things just seem a bit too real to be a joke. Case in point: Sony's announcement of a new
Jak & Daxter game on PS2 and PSP. Earlier today on Sony's PlayStation Blog,
High Impact Games' "design guru" Lesley Mathieson officially unveiled
Jak and Daxter: The Lost Frontier. Here's the official word:
If there wasn't enough excitement from GDC last week, here's even more! We are happy to announce that Jak & Daxter are coming to the PSP and PS2!
Developed by High Impact Games, Jak and Daxter: The Lost Frontier takes the intrepid pair all the way to the edge of the world. There they must battle their way past air pirates and sinister creatures in their quest to find a cure for the world's eco shortage. Keep an eye out for this title to be available later this year!
Sterling says: Developed by a studio that's made PSP versions of famous PS2 franchises? Check. Screenshots that look right around PSP-quality? Yep. "Coming later this year" announcement? Sounds pretty legit to me. High Impact has the great
Ratchet & Clank: Size Matters under its belt, so I imagine that a new rendition of another great PS2 platformer series could be decent.
Of course, if it
is an April Fools' joke, it's not as good as
this, the best I've seen all day.
