In Japan, KOEI publishes three horse-racing series, because KOEI is crazy like that. Winning Post, a Sega Saturn version of which came to the States back in '96, casts you as a filthy rich stable owner who's probably never had to do his own grocery shopping; Horsebreaker casts you as a trainer whose job is presumably to "whisper" to the horses; G1 Jockey casts you as an ambitious "short person" who loves to ride dem ponies. It's the third and most recent entry in the latter franchise that KOEI has chosen for U.S. localization, as it's the most action-oriented game of the bunch -- but it remains a game as much about statistics, strategy, and storytelling as racing.
